Shaving Antenna

As with all DIY's, read and understand ALL directions before starting the install.

Stuff you need
JB Weld (Yes JB Weld. Not Bondo and though Bondo will flex with the car some, since we are not working with a "flexing" place on the car, JB Weld is the better choice due to it's strength and that it will bond to the metal of the car better.) (You can use Bondo if you wish.)
Steel Screen (from a screen window or from the top of an aquarium)
Something kinda heavy (I used a small piece of wood)
Some strong string or wire.
Fine grit sand paper (220 works well)
Sanding block
Body file (the kind used on body work for knocking off extra Bondo)
Primer and color match paint.(It is recommended that you have the work painted by a professional after.)
Lets do it
1) Remove antenna.

2) Cut a small square of steel screen about 1/4 inch larger then antenna hole.

3) Clean and sand the UNDER side of the fender inside trunk where the hole is, be sure to wipe away sanding dust with a damp rag and wait to dry.

4) Mix and apply a small bit of JB Weld to the under side of the hole and place square of screen over hole and press making sure the JB Weld squeezes through holes in screen. Run the string up through the screen as close to the edge of the hole as possible and tie to piece of wood and let hang over outside of fender. this will help hold the screen in place until JB Weld is dry. Let dry over night.

5) Making sure the JB Weld is dry and the screen is secure, Apply a small square of Duck tape over the screen from inside the fender. This will help keep the JB Weld from dripping all the way through.

6) Mix more JB Weld and fill in hole as if it were Bondo. Let dry over night.

7) Using the rough file, file down the majority of the JB Weld. Then sand with proper sand paper and apply finishing filler. There is no need to use Bondo for ANY part of this how to.

8) Prime, Paint, and your done.

Now go to Radio Shack (or wherever) and get your hidden antenna.

Filling in the hood.
You can use this process for filling in the holes on your hood where your washer
nozzles were if you did the Transplanting your washer nozzles How-To.
